Great Destinations for Couples Without Children

Traveling around with children can be hectic, especially when they are really young. If you and your mate don’t have children yet, then it’s a good idea to travel around to certain destinations before they come along. There are some places that are just better off for the adults only. If you don’t have children or can leave them with their grandparents, then you should consider going to the following destinations.

The city of lights, love and romance – it’s really all it’s cracked up to be for couple who are in love. It’s not a place you want to bring your kids, since you’ll rarely get to enjoy all the romantic destinations. Everything from the restaurants to the beaches have a romantic essence. Good thing you brought your special gift from Victoria Secret – this is probably why some people come back with child! Have a picnic at the beach or stroll in countless parks and streets hand-in-hand. Of course, you’ll visit and tour all of the city to see places like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.

This doesn’t sound like much of a place for couples, but those who love a good adventure will find this destination to be suitable. You can do things like scuba dive, hike and explore glacier caves and volcanoes. There are also plenty of pools and saunas that you can dip into at the end of the day.

Route 66

Road trips are the bees knees, but only when you have the right company. Children aren’t really great travel buddies, especially when they’re too young. You can go on a road trip down Route 66, which is a 2,451-mile ride. This will take you through the backcountry of the U.S., taking you from L.A. to the Grand Canyon and even the Colorado River. This is literally a cross country adventure that can fill up your photo albums with great memories.

Banff, Alberta

Winter is a great time to travel here to enjoy sports, like cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and dogsledding. There are also other activities you can do like ice climbing, helicopter touring and heli-skiing. It’s a great way to keep active after chowing down on hot chili at the spa in the hotel. For more romantic moments, you can go on horseback rides or whitewater rafting.

Napa Valley Wine Tour

Who doesn’t like a great glass of wine? Especially when it comes from one of the most popular vineyards in the land. Napa Valley consists of 250 wineries, which span across 30 miles of road and towns. This is definitely adult-only type of fun – kids just wouldn’t understand.

If you want to take your travels across seas, you can go to the capital of Japan. There’s plenty of fun to be had here, including going to the Tsukiji fish market, watching a flick at the kabuki theater or cruising down Kanda River. There’s one thing for sure, you won’t be bored with your trip to Hello Kitty World.

Traveling before you start a family is cheaper and ensures you get to see the world before you get tied down with extra responsibilities. Put one or more of these places on your list of things to do this year.
